Trinidad Triggers Outlast North Platte 80s 15-13

June 1 2024 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the North Platte 80s 15-13 in a high-scoring contest at Central Park. Trinidad collected 15 hits and built a 15-7 lead through eight innings before North Platte scored six times in the ninth. The 80s finished with 12 hits and neither team committed an error.

Trinidad broke open the game with three runs in the third inning, three more in the fifth and five in the sixth. Chris Lopez led the Triggers with two hits, three RBI and two home runs, while Jacob Mitchell added two hits and five RBI with a home run. Humberto Maldonado had three hits and two RBI, and Jordan Anderson scored three runs and drove in two.

North Platte was led by Trevor Nelson, who had two hits and four RBI. Cristofer Hernandez scored three runs with two hits, two RBI and three stolen bases, while Tjay Mullins added two hits, three runs, one RBI, two stolen bases and two home runs. Garrett Flaagan scored three times and drove in one.

Jacob Faivre earned the win for Trinidad after allowing seven hits and four runs over five innings while striking out 11. Saul Arias worked a scoreless inning, and Colin Kelly recorded the save with a scoreless one-third of an inning. Ryan Schroeder took the loss for North Platte after surrendering 11 hits and nine runs in five innings.
