North Platte 80s Edge Blackwell Flycatchers in 11 Innings

June 5 2024 The North Platte 80s defeated the Blackwell Flycatchers 10-9 in 11 innings at Bill Wood Field. North Platte finished with 11 hits while Blackwell had nine. The 80s scored the deciding run in the 11th inning after the teams entered the frame tied 9-9.

Blackwell built leads with three runs in the first inning and three more in the third. North Platte answered with two runs in the first and three in the third before adding single runs in the sixth and 11th and three runs in the eighth. Blackwell scored three times in the ninth to force extra innings.

North Platte first baseman C. Tweten went 3-for-4 with a double two runs and one RBI. C. Calhoun went 2-for-6 with two runs while C. Hernandez had a triple two runs and one RBI. L. Lee added a double two walks one run and one RBI. For Blackwell D. Burroughs and M. Bracey each collected two hits and two runs with one RBI apiece while R. Lozano also had two hits.

Ryan Schroeder earned the win after allowing one hit and striking out one in a scoreless 11th inning. Blackwell starter Owen Little struck out 10 over five innings but allowed five runs on eight hits. Cade Johnson took the loss despite striking out five in 2.2 innings and allowing one run on no hits with three walks.
