Austin Weirdos Edge North Platte 80s 4-3

June 20 2024 The Austin Weirdos defeated the North Platte 80s 4-3 at Bill Wood Field. Austin scored three runs in the third inning and added the go-ahead run in the ninth, while North Platte scored once in the second, sixth and ninth innings. Austin finished with five hits and three errors, while North Platte collected seven hits and committed two errors.

Cole Harness led Austin with two hits and one RBI. Oscar Galvez Steve Snowden and Jacob Strobel each added a hit, with Strobel scoring once. North Platte’s Jerry Liang went 3-for-4 with one RBI, and Chris Calhoun had two hits. Ryan Lutinski also drove in a run for the 80s.

Strobel earned the win after allowing six hits and three runs, one earned, in eight innings. He struck out five and walked two. Jalil Marinez recorded the save with a scoreless ninth inning that included one strikeout. North Platte starter Kerry Wright took the loss despite striking out nine in seven innings; he allowed three hits and three runs, two earned, with one walk. Chase Titilah pitched the final two innings for North Platte.
