Garden City Wind Rally Past North Platte 80s 8-5

July 5 2024 The Garden City Wind rallied for an 8-5 victory over the North Platte 80s. Garden City outhit North Platte 9-7 and overcame a 4-3 deficit after six innings by scoring four runs in the seventh. North Platte scored twice in the first inning, twice in the fifth and once in the seventh, while Garden City added one run in the first, two in the third and one in the fifth before its decisive seventh-inning outburst.

Jacob Talamante led Garden City with three hits and three RBI, including two doubles. Colton Adams went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two walks, while Adam Purdy scored twice and drew four walks. Joey Wright added a double and an RBI, and Dominic Enbody contributed a hit and three RBI. For North Platte, Derek Wood and Tjay Mullins each collected two hits, with Wood scoring once and driving in one run.

Ted Broxterman worked six innings for Garden City, allowing four hits and four runs, three earned, while striking out six and walking four. Lance Koch earned the win after allowing one run on two hits in one inning. Nico ODonnell struck out three in a scoreless eighth, and Adam Wibert secured the save with a hitless ninth and three strikeouts. North Platte starter Kerry Wright allowed five hits and four earned runs in six innings with six strikeouts, while Ryan Schroeder was charged with the loss after allowing four runs in one inning.
