North Platte 80s Shut Out Garden City Wind 2-0

July 6 2024 The North Platte 80s defeated the Garden City Wind 2-0 behind a dominant pitching performance and a two-run eighth inning. North Platte finished with three hits and no errors, while Garden City managed one hit and committed one error.

Tjay Mullins provided the decisive offense with a two-run home run in the eighth inning. Mullins went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and scored once. Seth Christiansen also collected a hit and scored, while Derek Wood had North Platte’s other hit. Garden City’s lone hit came from Robert Morosetti.

Christiansen earned the win after allowing one hit and no runs over eight innings. He walked eight and struck out five while facing 29 batters. Lake Fisher completed the shutout with a hitless ninth inning, recording two strikeouts for the save. Garden City starter Drew Henderson took the loss despite striking out nine over eight innings; he allowed three hits and two earned runs.
