North Platte 80s Pull Away From Santa Fe Fuego 12-6

July 8 2024 The North Platte 80s defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 12-6 at Bill Wood Field. North Platte collected 13 hits and scored in three innings while Santa Fe finished with nine hits. The 80s took a 5-3 lead in the first inning and extended the advantage with six runs in the fourth and one in the sixth. Santa Fe scored once in the second and twice in the fifth but could not close the gap.

Coby Tweten led North Platte with four hits in five at-bats and drove in one run. Chase Titilah went 1-for-2 with a double and five RBI, while Marcos Corrales had two hits, scored three runs and drove in one. Seth Christiansen added a hit, two runs and one RBI, and Ryan Lutinski drove in two runs. For Santa Fe, Tristan Cavazos went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI. Jake Grubesic and Jeremy DiBartolomeo each had two hits, with Grubesic driving in one run and DiBartolomeo adding one RBI.

Titilah earned the win after allowing eight hits and six runs, three earned, in six innings. He walked one and struck out four. Dan Clark, Trevor Nelson and Corey Steward combined for three scoreless innings in relief, allowing one hit. Daniel Benavidez took the loss for Santa Fe after giving up nine hits and nine runs in 3.1 innings, with four earned runs, four walks and one strikeout.
