North Platte 80s Rally Past Roswell Invaders 9-6

July 17 2024 The North Platte 80s defeated the Roswell Invaders 9-6, overcoming a 5-4 deficit after seven innings. North Platte collected 18 hits and scored five runs in the eighth inning to secure the victory, while Roswell finished with 10 hits. Both teams committed one error.

Luke Lee went 3-for-5 with two runs for North Platte, while Coby Tweten was 3-for-5. Rico Riley added two hits and two RBI, and Seth Christiansen drove in two runs. Derek Wood, Cristofer Hernandez and Marcos Corrales each contributed two hits, with Wood recording one RBI and Hernandez and Corrales driving in one run apiece.

Roswell received a three-hit performance from Jose Sanchez, who drove in two runs. Brett Lindsay went 2-for-2 with three runs, two walks and one RBI, while Luis Moreno added two hits and two RBI. Roswell scored once in the first inning, three times in the third and once each in the seventh and eighth.

Ryan Schroeder earned the win for North Platte after allowing one run on one hit with two walks and two strikeouts in one inning. Corey Steward worked a scoreless ninth for the save. Jacob Young started for Roswell and allowed four runs, two earned, on 11 hits in seven innings while striking out four; Jafet Palma took the loss after surrendering five runs on five hits in the eighth.
