North Platte 80s Rally Past Trinidad Triggers 8-5

June 6 2025 The North Platte 80s defeated the Trinidad Triggers 8-5 at Bill Wood Field, overcoming a 5-4 deficit with two runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and two more in the eighth. North Platte outhit Trinidad 9-10 and finished with two errors, while the Triggers also committed two errors.

Coby Tweten powered the 80s offense with three hits and four RBI in three at-bats. Ivan Santos added two RBI, and Aidan Diltz drove in another run. Rico Riley scored three times and drew two walks, while John Haimowitz and Caleb Copeland each scored once. For Trinidad, Connor Huzicka went 2-for-5, Santiago Sanchez had two hits and Derek Gallegos scored twice.

Trinidad opened the scoring with two runs in the second inning, but North Platte answered with two runs in the first and later regained control with its late scoring. The Triggers scored three times in the second and twice in the sixth, but were held scoreless over the final three innings.

Joe Barrons earned the win after allowing two runs on three hits in one inning. Ray White struck out two in a scoreless inning, and Corey Steward recorded the save with a hitless, scoreless ninth that included two strikeouts. Christian Diaz took the loss for Trinidad after giving up three runs on three hits in three innings.
