Trinidad Triggers Rally Past North Platte 80s 12-6

June 16 2025 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the North Platte 80s 12-6 at Central Park, using a four-run seventh inning to pull away. Trinidad collected 11 hits and scored in five innings, while North Platte finished with nine hits and six runs. The Triggers also turned one double play and committed one error.

Chris Viamonte led Trinidad’s offense by going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI, including a triple. Ryan Drag added a home run, a run and an RBI, while Sean Connolly went 2-for-4 with two runs. Jake Tanner contributed two RBI, and LeRoy Rushing drove in one. North Platte’s Rico Riley went 2-for-3 with two runs, two walks, a double and an RBI. Aidan Diltz had two hits and two RBI, while Jake Boucher scored twice and added a hit and an RBI.

Trinidad opened with three runs in the first inning and added another in the second before North Platte scored twice in the third. Both teams scored three times in the fourth, leaving the Triggers ahead 7-5. Trinidad then scored four runs in the seventh and one in the eighth, while North Platte added its final run in the eighth.

Christian Diaz provided the strongest relief outing for Trinidad, allowing one hit and no runs over 2.2 innings with three strikeouts and one walk. Juan Ortega worked 4.1 innings and was charged with five runs on five hits and seven walks, while Saul Samaniego allowed one run on three hits over 1.1 innings. For North Platte, Trevor Nelson struck out two over five innings but allowed seven runs on eight hits and six walks.
