Trinidad Triggers Rally Past North Platte 8-7 in 10 Innings

June 26 2025 The Trinidad Triggers rallied for three runs in the ninth inning and one in the 10th to defeat the North Platte 80s 8-7. Trinidad finished with 16 hits, while North Platte collected eight. The Triggers opened the game with four runs in the first inning and overcame a 7-4 deficit after North Platte scored twice in the second, twice in the fourth, once in the fifth and twice in the sixth.

Garrett Hunter led Trinidad with three hits and three RBI. Carlos Urias and Gleyder Abreu also collected three hits apiece, with Abreu scoring twice. Ryan Drag hit a home run and drove in two runs, while Alejandro Herrera added two hits and one RBI. North Platte’s Aidan Diltz went 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, and Tj Beninati and Caleb Copeland each had one hit and one run scored.

Trinidad starter Juan Ortega allowed five runs, four earned, on three hits in five innings, with four strikeouts and six walks. Christian Diaz worked four innings and gave up two runs on five hits while striking out two. Drag pitched a scoreless 10th inning for the Triggers. North Platte’s Mike Nestor allowed four earned runs on six hits in five innings and struck out five, while Eddie Kafton delivered three scoreless innings with three strikeouts.

North Platte was held scoreless from the seventh through the 10th innings, but Trinidad’s late three-run ninth tied the game before the Triggers scored the winning run in the 10th. Trinidad committed one error and North Platte played errorless defense.
