Garden City Wind Pull Away From North Platte 12-4

June 28 2025 The Garden City Wind defeated the North Platte 80s 12-4 after turning a close game into a rout with a six-run fifth inning. Garden City finished with 12 runs on 12 hits and one error, while North Platte scored four runs on 11 hits with one error.

North Platte opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning, but Garden City answered with three runs in the third and one in the fourth to take a 4-2 lead. The Wind then broke the game open in the fifth, scoring six times to extend the advantage to 10-3. Garden City added two runs in the eighth, while North Platte scored once in the fifth and once in the eighth.

Jason Rooks led Garden Citys offense with two hits, including a triple, and three RBI. Andrew Brautman hit a two-run home run, and pinch-hitter Seth Christiansen added a two-run homer. Kaleb Scull and Jacob Talamante each scored twice, while Brautman and Rob Morosetti both collected two hits. For North Platte, Rico Riley had three hits and one RBI, and Caleb Copeland and Sean Bennett each had two hits.

Will Hahnfeld earned the win for Garden City after allowing three earned runs on nine hits in six innings, with one walk and seven strikeouts. Ritter Steinmann pitched a scoreless seventh with two strikeouts, and Grant Garza worked the eighth. North Platte starter Luke Harris took the loss after surrendering eight earned runs on six hits and nine walks in 4.1 innings.
