North Platte 80s Cruise Past Blackwell Flycatchers 6-1

July 9 2025 The North Platte 80s scored five runs in the first inning and went on to defeat the Blackwell Flycatchers 6-1 at Bill Wood Field. North Platte added its final run in the fourth inning, while Blackwell scored its lone run in the opening frame.

Jake Boucher led North Platte with three hits in four at-bats and scored once. Alex Kornblau went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, and Aidan Diltz added two hits and two RBIs. Coby Tweten and Rico Riley each scored once, while Sean Bennett scored twice and drew three walks.

Joe Barrons earned the complete-game victory for North Platte, allowing six hits and one run, one earned, with one walk and two strikeouts over nine innings. Parker Ruth took the loss for Blackwell after allowing nine hits and six runs over six innings, though only two runs were earned. Mateo Ferguson worked two scoreless innings in relief with two strikeouts.

Blackwell collected six hits, including two from Dawson Wedeking. Markus Bracey drove in the Flycatchers only run, while Jack Skantze scored and added one hit. North Platte finished with nine hits and seven walks in the victory.
