Blackwell Flycatchers Hold Off North Platte 80s 9-8

July 10 2025 The Blackwell Flycatchers held off the North Platte 80s for a 9-8 victory at Bill Wood Field. Blackwell finished with 11 hits and built a 5-4 advantage through seven innings before both teams scored four times in the ninth. Markus Bracey led the Flycatchers with a 4-for-5 performance, two home runs, four runs batted in and two runs scored. Joseph Boone went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI, while Dawson Wedeking added a hit, a run and an RBI. Jesus Valencia contributed a two-run hit as Blackwell scored twice in the fourth, then added single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Dominic Scotti earned the win after allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits over seven innings. He struck out six and walked six. Owen Little worked a scoreless eighth, and Bracey recorded the save with a scoreless one-third of an inning. North Platte received a two-RBI home run from Coby Tweten and a two-RBI performance from John Haimowitz, but finished with four hits overall. Benjamin Smith took the loss after allowing four runs, three earned, on six hits in six innings.
