Garden City Wind Edge North Platte 5-4 in 11 Innings

July 14 2025 The Garden City Wind defeated the North Platte 80s 5-4 in 11 innings. Garden City finished with six hits and no errors while North Platte collected nine hits but committed three errors.

Garden City scored once in the third inning and twice in the fourth to take an early 3-1 lead. The Wind added a run in the seventh and the eventual winning run in the 11th. North Platte tied the game with one run in the sixth and two in the ninth before Garden City secured the victory in extra innings.

Kaleb Scull drove in two runs for Garden City, while Rob Morosetti and Jeremiah Williams each added an RBI. Jason Rooks had two hits, including two doubles, and Tobie Teke and Andrew Brautman each scored once. North Plattes Alex Kornblau went 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs, while Ryan Lutinski hit a home run and drove in a run. Rico Riley also homered and finished with an RBI.

Jose Ballista earned the win with two scoreless innings, allowing no hits while striking out five and walking one. Garden City starter Jeremiah Williams worked six innings and allowed five hits and two earned runs with two strikeouts. North Platte starter Mike Nestor struck out five over six innings, allowing four hits and three runs, two earned. Eddie Kafton took the loss after allowing one run on two hits in 1 1/3 innings.
