North Platte 80s Pull Away From Blackwell

July 16 2025 The North Platte 80s defeated the Blackwell Flycatchers 14-6 at Morgan Field. North Platte collected 12 hits and scored in four innings while Blackwell finished with 11 hits and six runs.

North Platte took control with a six-run fourth inning after scoring once in the third. The 80s added three runs in the seventh and four more in the eighth to secure the win. Blackwell scored twice in the first and added four runs in the fifth but did not score in the final four innings.

Coby Tweten led North Platte with three hits including a home run and five RBI. Jake Boucher and Ryan Lutinski added two hits apiece while Boucher scored twice. Benjamin Smith earned the win after allowing six runs on eight hits over five innings with seven strikeouts. Eddie Kafton followed with three scoreless innings and four strikeouts and Corey Steward completed the game with a scoreless ninth.
