Trinidad Triggers Hold Off North Platte 80s 6-3

July 22 2025 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the North Platte 80s 6-3 at Central Park, scoring four runs in the second inning and adding single runs in the fifth and sixth. North Platte answered with one run in the sixth, eighth and ninth innings but could not complete the comeback.

Trinidad collected 12 hits, including home runs by Connor Huzicka and Ryan Drag. Huzicka went 1-for-3 with a home run, one RBI, one run and a walk, while Drag went 1-for-5 with a home run and one RBI. Dominick Pizano and Chris Viamonte each drove in runs, with Pizano finishing 2-for-4 with two RBI and Viamonte going 2-for-4 with one RBI. Jake Tanner added two hits and scored twice.

Derek Gallegos earned the win with a complete-game performance, allowing 10 hits and three earned runs in nine innings while walking two and striking out five. Gallegos also contributed two hits and scored a run. North Platte starter Vance Serrano took the loss after giving up 11 hits and six earned runs in seven innings, with three walks and four strikeouts. Trevor Nelson worked a scoreless eighth for North Platte.

North Platte finished with 10 hits, led by two-hit games from Jake Boucher, Rico Riley and John Haimowitz. Coby Tweten doubled and scored a run, while Boucher tripled and scored. The 80s scored in the sixth, eighth and ninth but were held scoreless in the first five innings.
