July 24 2025 The North Platte 80s scored 12 runs in the fifth inning and rolled to a 25-2 victory over the Kansas City Hormigas at Bill Wood Field. North Platte collected 18 hits and scored in seven innings, while Kansas City finished with 10 hits and two errors.

North Platte built an early 8-0 lead with one run in the first, three in the second and four in the third before breaking the game open in the fifth. The 80s added two runs in the sixth and three in the eighth. Kansas City scored its runs in the fifth and ninth innings.

Ivan Santos went 4-for-6 with two runs and five RBI for North Platte. Tj Beninati added two hits, three runs, six RBI and a double, while Rico Riley went 2-for-6 with three runs, four RBI and a home run. Alex Kornblau scored three runs and drove in two, and Aidan Diltz scored twice with two RBI.

Pierce Salbego earned the win after allowing one earned run on six hits in five innings, with three walks and seven strikeouts. Luke Harris worked two scoreless innings with two strikeouts. Kansas City starter Jacob Strobel took the loss after surrendering eight earned runs on four hits and eight walks in four innings.
