North Platte 80s Defeat Kansas City Hormigas 9-4

July 26 2025 The North Platte 80s defeated the Kansas City Hormigas 9-4 at Bill Wood Field. North Platte scored four runs in the first inning and added single runs in the third and fifth before securing the win with two runs in the eighth. Kansas City scored once in the first and fourth innings and twice in the seventh but could not close the gap.

Rico Riley led North Platte with two hits including a home run and two RBI. Sean Bennett went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Ivan Santos also collected two hits. John Haimowitz and Ryan Lutinski each drove in two runs, and Coby Tweten scored three times.

Trevor Nelson earned the win for North Platte after allowing two runs on eight hits over six innings. He walked two and struck out six. Jake Boucher followed with a scoreless inning and three strikeouts while John Luegering added a scoreless ninth.

Jacob Bosse took the loss for Kansas City despite recording seven strikeouts over seven innings. He allowed seven runs on eight hits with three walks, and Nick Fredrickson surrendered two runs in one inning. Kansas City finished with nine hits, led by two-hit performances from Xander Nabors Zachary Trangmar and Bosse.
