North Platte 80s Rally Past Blackwell Flycatchers 11-2

July 27 2025 The North Platte 80s scored 11 unanswered runs from the fifth through seventh innings to defeat the Blackwell Flycatchers 11-2. North Platte finished with eight hits and no errors while Blackwell had four hits and committed three errors.

North Platte broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the fifth inning and added four more in the sixth before scoring three in the seventh. Blackwell scored once in the third and once in the eighth. Ivan Santos led the 80s with three hits and two runs, while Sean Bennett went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Mike Nestor added a triple, a run and two RBIs, and Ryan Lutinski contributed a pinch-hit RBI single.

Nestor earned the win after allowing three hits and one run, one earned, in six innings. He struck out seven and walked one. Eddie Kafton, John Luegering and Corey Steward combined to finish the game for North Platte. Chambers McGilbery took the loss for Blackwell despite allowing two hits and no earned runs in five innings; DJ Martin surrendered seven runs on five hits in 1 1/3 innings.
