Garden City Wind Roll Past North Platte 80s 17-1

August 2 2025 The Garden City Wind scored in seven of eight innings and defeated the North Platte 80s 17-1. Garden City collected 18 hits while limiting North Platte to seven, and the Wind took an early lead with two runs in the first inning, three in the second and six in the third. North Platte’s lone run came in the fourth, while Garden City added four runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and one in the eighth.

Tobie Teke powered the Garden City offense with three hits, including two home runs, three runs and five RBI. Andrew Brautman scored four runs and added two hits, an RBI, a walk and two stolen bases. Jacob Talamante went 2-for-5 with three runs and two RBI, while Secundino Morales drove in three runs. Jason Rooks and Dominic Enbody each contributed two RBI.

Cole Lee earned the win for Garden City after allowing one run on four hits over six innings. He walked two and struck out five. Davin Meier, Max Ramirez and Gavin Peterson each worked a scoreless inning in relief, combining for three hits allowed, five walks and three strikeouts.

North Platte starter Rene Rivera took the loss after surrendering 10 runs on 10 hits in two innings. Luke Harris allowed four runs, three earned, in 2 1/3 innings, and Trevor Nelson finished with three runs allowed, two earned, over 3 2/3 innings.
