Garden City Wind Edge North Platte 80s 2-1

August 3 2025 The Garden City Wind defeated the North Platte 80s 2-1 at Clint Lightner. Garden City scored single runs in the fourth and seventh innings to overcome North Platte’s lone run in the sixth. The Wind finished with four hits and one error while the 80s collected five hits without an error.

Andrew Brautman led Garden City with two hits, including a double, and Jacob Talamante and Tobie Teke each drove in a run. North Platte’s Aidan Diltz went 2-for-3 with two hits, while Ryan Lutinski recorded the 80s’ only RBI. North Platte also stole three bases through Caleb Copeland.

Will Hahnfeld allowed two hits and one earned run over 5.2 innings for Garden City while striking out eight. Jose Ballista earned the win with 1.1 scoreless innings and two strikeouts, Grant Garza added a scoreless inning with two strikeouts, and Lance Koch closed with a scoreless ninth for the save. North Platte starter Mike Nestor worked six innings, allowing two hits and one earned run while striking out four, but Eddie Kafton took the loss after allowing the go-ahead run in two innings.
