The North Platte 80s have declared their 10 rookies from 2024 roster that they are retaining for 2025 season.Coach Todd Everleth was the first in the Pecos League to release this list. Although it is possible these players sign with higher level MLB Partner Leagues, if they return to the Pecos LeagueThese players Pecos League rights remain with the 80s.
2025 is the first time this rule has been implemented. It was necessary as a balancing act to prevent teams from taking other teams rookies.It helps teams like the 80s build their roster into a playoff contender.Once a player has obtained Veteran Status they are declared free agents and can move to any team without restriction.
